Darin Andersen, Chairman and Founder, CyberTECH

Darin Andersen is a distinguished professional in cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT) with over 15 years of experience in the security industry. In 2013, Andersen founded CyberTECH (CyberHive and iHive Incubators), a global cybersecurity and IoT network ecosystem providing cybersecurity and IoT resources, strategic programs and quality thought leader IoT Forums across the nation. Andersen is also founder of CyberUnited, a cybersecurity, big data and predictive analytics firm that applies a behavioral psychology framework via machine learning, data, analytics and inferential algorithms to determine and prevent identity and insider threats within the enterprise, academic and government organizations.

Before founding CyberUnited, Andersen was the GM, North America for Norman Shark, a forensics malware analytics company, later acquired by Blue Coat Systems. Prior to Norman Shark, Darin served as Chief Operating Officer at ESET, an award- winning and antivirus solutions company. He was a leading driver in growing the company to over 800 employees worldwide and building an extensive network of malware research centers in nine countries, as well as a network of partners spanning more than 180 countries. While COO at ESET, Andersen created the “Securing Our eCity” initiative. The initiative, now an independent foundation, was recognized by the White House as the “Best Local/Community Plan” in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Challenge.

Andersen was recently named a Distinguished Fellow by the Ponemon Institute, a research center dedicated to privacy, data protection and information security policies. He received the Internet of Things award at the 2014 Cybersecurity Awards and was named Top Influential by The San Diego Daily Transcript for 2015.

A graduate of Claremont McKenna College, Andersen earned an MBA in Finance and Operations Management and a second masters in Information Systems and Operations Systems, both from University of Southern California

As Chief Technology Officer, Mark Benson navigates emerging Internet of Things developments and leads the company’s technology strategy to fuel its industry leadership and growth. Prior to joining Exosite in 2012, Benson was the director of software strategy at Logic PD, where he was responsible for leading software product development and setting the overall software strategy for the company.

Over the course of his career, Benson has led highly-creative and multi-disciplined teams in the development of advanced embedded product designs for industrial, medical, aerospace, military and consumer industries.

Additionally, he has authored the book, “The Art of Software Thermal Management for Embedded Systems,” and several technical papers and articles, and he is a regular speaker at industry conferences.

Benson holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minnesota, and a master’s degree in software engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Stacy Cannady, Specialist in Cyber Resilience and Mitigation of Cyber Risk, Cisco Systems

Stacy Cannady currently works for Cisco Systems as a specialist in cyber resilience and mitigation of cyber risk.  He is a veteran of 35 years in the Information Technology industry.

Early in his career he held technical responsibilities in IT operations and security operations, and in building, deploying and protecting servers, networks and endpoints.  For the last 18 years, Stacy has specialized in cyber security.  He has provided professional services support to federal agencies and the defense industrial base as well as technical marketing and portfolio management for cyber security products and services. Most recently, Stacy works as a subject matter expert in cyber resilience for Cisco.  His duties include security architecture focused on cyber resilient systems, he is involved in communication and education on cyber resilience and mitigation of cyber risk and represents Cisco on the Board of Directors for the Trusted Computing Group.

Stacy regularly speaks and writes on cyber resilience and on security of IoT, Cloud and other cyber security issues. 

Vin D’Agostino, Vice President, General Purpose Products Unit, Renesas Electronics America Inc

As Vice President of the General Purpose Products Unit at Renesas Electronics America Inc, Vin D’Agostino is responsible for overseeing a broad product portfolio for the Americas, including microcontrollers, microprocessors, SoCs, and Analog & Power devices, across the breadth of the company’s customer base. He also leads the company’s engineering department and strategic marketing group, made up of more than 100 people committed to expanding the Renesas ecosystem for all Americas-based customers.

Mr. D’Agostino joined Renesas Electronics America in 2015, and he has held a number of successful engineering and executive management positions prior. Most recently, Mr. D’Agostino was the founder and principal of BNS Solutions, which he established in 1997. He was also director of Battery Management, Video, and Imaging at Exar Corporation and the director of Controls Engineering at Branson Ultrasonics. In total, he brings over 30 years of experience in hands-on engineering and leadership roles.

Mr. D’Agostino earned his Master’s degree in computer science from the Polytechnic Institute of New York and his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Michael Finegan, Director of IoT Business Development, MultiTech

David Mclauchlan, CEO and co-founder, Buddy Platform

David is CEO and co-founder of Buddy Platform, one of the world’s first data aggregation and management platforms for IoT and connected devices. Prior to founding Buddy, David spent 11 years at Microsoft, where he led business development for Microsoft’s Zune hardware business, spent many years in Microsoft’s Windows division, and also worked on the Visual C++ product in the Server & Tools division.

David has considerable business development experience, having closed inbound and outbound licensing deals for Microsoft with global partners and customers in the consumer, enterprise, B2B and component industries. In addition to his work in various product groups at Microsoft, he represented the company in several international standards-setting organizations, including the USB Implementers Forum, Consumer Electronics Association, Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), Bluetooth SIG and the IEEE Printer Work Group.

David is the co-founder of TVinteract, which developed software for on-air TV talent to curate and display social media in real-time and was acquired in 2014. He also has served as a Technology Partner Network advisor for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and currently serves as a mentor for the Australian incubator “Innovyz START”. He is also advisor to Washington DC-based “Manalto” and Melbourne-based “Bluedot Innovation.”

Prior to moving to the United States, David was a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Melbourne, Australia, and before that was a professional pianist in Adelaide. David holds a Master’s degree in Engineering: IT, Telecommunications & Business Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering (Honors), both from the University of South Australia.

In the past, she has been responsible for $1 billion in aftermarket sales of electrical and electronic parts for Caterpillar’s products. Growth goals achieved were two times industry growth with implementation of innovative, recycling, refurbishment, and other sustainment strategies, which also ensured secure source of supply for components up to 30 years old, maintaining commitment to customers, keeping their products running. Michael May, President & CEO, Sendero Group

Mike May has been a pioneer in new product and business development since 1980. He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency as a Political Risk Analyst, for the Bank of California in automating wire transfers and cash machines and for TRW starting a new business area. Mike's start-up ventures have included developing the world's first and only Laser Turntable, inventing a portable heating cushion for sports and medical applications and starting up 2 companies in adaptive technology for the blind. He founded the Sendero Group to make location information accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired in 1999. Sendero invented the first accessible GPS for the blind which it continues to improve and distribute worldwide. Mike May has a Masters' degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He has been a visiting scholar and spoken on electronic navigation for the blind at countless conferences. He has served on numerous boards and is currently on the board of the Seeing Eye. Mike holds the downhill speed skiing record for a totally blind person of 65 miles per hour, one arena where he says there is no room for navigation technology. Mike has met 4 presidents. Vice-President Gore said at the White House in 1996, "it won't be long before we see Mike and others wearing GPS devices on their wrists." A book based on Mike May's life, Crashing Through, by best selling author, Robert Kurson, was released in May 2007 and a movie by Fox 2000 is in the works. Most recently, Mike May met with President Obama and several of his cabinet members at the White House. He was also a member of the White House delegation to the 2010 Paralympics and has been inducted into the US Association of the Blind Hall of Fame.

He oversees a global research and development team, manages all technical relationships with QAD global partners, and innovates on QAD’s key technology initiatives, including its user exerperiences, foundation services, application lifecycle management, analytics, integration and quality. Tony loves to spend time with his wife and four children, learning new things together through homeschooling, like trying to play instruments and traveling to experience different cultures and cuisines firsthand.
